About
The Democratic Forest: Selected Works is a collection of images from a much larger selection with the same name. The democracy refers to Eggleston’s democratic vision, the way he depicts mundane and common elements and subjects with an elevated complexity and relevance. This body of work was taken over three years and it’s considered Eggleston’s most ambitious project. The objects that appear in his images are completely ordinary, but when looked at through his lens, they appear magnificent, demanding of our attention.
