About Busy Living
“Everything with everyone, everywhere, all of the time.” – This is the message on the back cover of Coco Capitan’s monograph Busy Living. It’s a hint to what you should expect once you open the book and delve in. Coco’s monograph is published on occasion of the first major European exhibition by the Spanish artist. Capitan embraces not only different mediums such as writing, painting, photography and installation, but also explores a varied range of styles all whilst remaining unapologetically herself. The work is accompanied by personal, at times humorous and always passionate essays in both English and French. Coco Capitan’s work is anything but still. It reflects the inner world of the artist herself. It’s impregnated with an ever-moving nature, doing exactly what the title suggest – devouring and reflecting every aspect of this rapid, changing modern world we live in. Everything in Busy Living solidifies Capitns worldview and approach to life; one filled with passion and wonder but also a healthy dose of sarcasm and wit.
