About
Toshio ShibatasFor Greyencapsulates Shibatas powerful imagery depicting man-altered landscapes, gushing damns, and a perspective which almost removes spatial perception within the framing of each photograph. Published by Akio Nagasawa, the images depict the brilliance of Toshio Shibatas photography which eliminates the any reference to scale through the use of the abstract, using an 8 x 10 inch camera which stunningly captures each carefully composed scene with a direct Japanese aesthetic. Included within this publication is an essay by Minoru Shimizu entitled ‘Collage and Local Color: Toshi Shibata’s New Color Works’
